phytoceramides questions

What are PhytoCeramides?

Ceramides are a special lipid present within the human organism, more specifically, in the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the skin). Their purpose is to bind with skin cells to form a "brick and mortar" which together form a very important shield or barrier that protects the skin by "sealing" the skin and keeping harmful things out, such as dirt, bacteria and any of the elements our skin may face each day. The other important reason for these ceramides is to help keep moisture locked inside the skin. Our challenge we face is as we age, our natural ceramide levels fall. As these levels lessen, our skin becomes thinner, drier and that is when fine lines and wrinkles appear. What's amazing is through various studies, scientists realized that Phyto Ceramides or Plant-Based Ceramides are an exact replicate of our bodies natural ceramides. They also figured out how to extract these plant lipids from several sources including rice, sweet potatoes and wheat. Clinical studies indicate that the wheat-based ceramides have proven to be the most effective in helping the skin to be plump, moist and thereby reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

What is the active ingredient in Phytoceramide Formula?
The active ingredient in PlantCeramides' potent formula is a purely natural wheat-based phyto-ceramide with Doctor recommended dosages. Our product is formulated, tested and manufactured in an FDA inspected and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified facility, always shipped out fresh and with an average of 3 years before the product expires.

What is the recommended dosage of PhytoCeramides?
Doctors recommend 350mg as being the most effective dosage of phytoceramides daily. Oral Phytoceramide effects depend on the individual and experiences and results can and do vary, we recommend starting at the dosage of 350 mg a day. Some individuals experience more substantial benefits at 700 mg a day (2-capsules) and others experience great results with simply one 350 mg capsule daily. Because ones genetic predispositions are complex and multidimensional, users may find more success with varying dosages. Taking more or less than the recommended 350 mg dosage is perfectly fine and individuals may need to fine tune dosage to their liking. It takes time and a little bit of experimentation to find the optimal dosage for users.

Does  contain anything other than the active ingredient?
In addition to the active ingredient, each veggie capsule also contains: 5,000 IU of VItamin A, 60 mg of Vitamin C, 400 IU of Vitamin D and 30 IU of Vitamin E. This potent combination of plant-based ceramides and vitamins makes this the perfect combination to keep skin supple and smooth, lock in moisture, increase collagen production and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

How long do I have to take Phytoceramides before I see any benefits?
Unlike OTC and prescription drugs that provide instant, temporary symptomatic relief without addressing the underlying problem responsible for poor health, herbal supplements provide progressive, long-term benefits by helping the body correct the underlying problem. While there are certain classes of herbs that work well in acute conditions to provide quick relief; supplements like plant-based ceramides need to be taken for at least 6 to 8-weeks before benefits can be realized. In the video featured on our site mentions that one will START to see the benefits after about 4-weeks of supplementation, whereas Dr Vladimir Badmaev is an expert on phytoceramide supplementation and he states optimal results are seen after about 3-months of supplementation.*
